Breakfast Time

This morning, Camden insisted on eating his cereal with his blankie on top of his head. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take pictures because he looked so darn cute and was so determined to have it on his head. Tayson also asked to have his picture taken too, hence the cheesy smile. On another note, a quote from a couple of days ago that made me laugh: we were having a picnic outside, the boys and I, and Tayson was talking about how he had a big sandwich (two pieces of bread instead of one) and he said "I can have this because (pause) "I'm the Man (in a deep voice)." Brady says this frequently when Tayson asks him why daddy gets bigger portion than him of dessert, etc, and Tayson has obviously picked up on it. I couldn't stop laughing.

Shave ice, Waves and Family, what could be better.

On Brady's day off on Monday we went to Haleiwa for shave ice and then chilled at a beach and watched the waves on the North Shore on our way home (they weren't all that big this day, but the other day they were huge- unfortunately I didn't have my camera then though). It was nice to get out and go somewhere and the boys love the shave ice of course. Brady took a cute picture of Camden and I but I accidentally deleted the good one. The one I posted was the only other one, but I realize I never post pictures of me because I am taking the pictures. For Christmas Santa gave me a gift certificate to get my haircut cut and highlighted. You can't really tell from the picture, but it was the only picture I have. It was a lot of fun and it is so nice to have some lighter color in my hair for the first time in two years. Thank you Santa and Brady (for giving Santa the idea)!

Bike riding

The neighbor boys have bikes with training wheels so Tayson and Camden are getting some experience learning to ride them. They LOVE IT. These pictures are from earlier today. Colin, next door, is about 2 1/2 months older than Camden, and quite the pro on his bike. Its amazing! Camden is just starting to learn, but can pedal a little all by himself. Tayson really wants a bike, but I think we will have to wait a while, because I think it would be more devastating to get one and then have to leave it behind when we leave, because we have no more room in our car even if we could fly it back to AZ. Hopefully once we get to Oregon he can get his first "Big bike". Tayson thinks he is so old now that he is four. On the day of his birthday, I gave him a sippy cup for dinner or lunch (can't remember which) and he was quick to say. "Mom, I'm too old for a sippy cup now." Funny thing is it didn't take him more than probably 10 minutes to tip over the regular cup when he wasn't paying attention. He is growing up though, YIKES!
The boys sure haven't had the best of luck with injuries. Camden's missing fingernail still looks Disgusting! Then Tayson decided to play with a random cat he saw, and got bit wednesday evening. He's been begging to go to the beach ever since, but we can't because the wound took off quite a few layers of skin so it is taking FOREVER to heal it seems like. If we went to the beach now, the moment the water hits his foot he is going to scream, not to mention what kind of bacteria there would be around there to get in the wound. Hopefully by monday we will be good to go and after it heals we can avoid any more injuries for a while so we can enjoy the sun, beach and water. It still beats being in the snow and cold though.

New Years Day

The boys celebrated the New Year with sparklers. They actually went to bed on time on New Years Eve, and then Brady's mom remembered that she had bought sparklers for them, so we waited until the next night and then let them do them. Fireworks are CRAZY popular here in Hawaii for New Years. Its a lot different from growing up in Utah where I guess it was always just too cold to even think about fireworks. Here the stores are packed with them leading up to New years. The boys loved it!

Tayson's B-day

On Tayson's birthday a couple weeks ago we had the neighbors over for a mini party with cake and ice cream. Tayson had been talking about wanting an umbrella ever since we left Pheonix (where he had seen one at Walmart). When we got to Hawaii it was running so much that he couldn't get the idea out of his head. Grandma Suzie and Grandpa Judd surprised them both with "lightning Mcqueen" umbrellas. It was an early b-day present for Camden. They were both thrilled as you can see on their expressions.

It fell off

Well, Saturday night right before bedtime, Camden's fingernail finally fell off. I know, so exciting! j/k (but it sure was exciting to Tayson). For two days I could see that it was going to fall off because after going to the beach, it was half filled with sand. That was when I realized part of it was not attached. Then the next day it got filled with dirt while playing outside and had to be cleaned out again right before his nap. When he woke up from his nap it was barely hanging on and the rest of the afternoon Tayson kept yelling, "Mom, his finger is falling off!" with a lot of excitement. He kept telling everyone that Camden's finger was falling off. Fortunately it was just the nail. I won't include pictures, it is pretty ugly. I think Brady vacuumed up the nail without knowing it had fallen off. Camden has been much happier since it fell off. Before that he was ALWAYS complaining about it everytime he bumped it or we touched it, but he hasn't complained about his finger since then. Hooray for a happy kid again!

Tayson Christmas Morning

The video is a little dark, but it is the only one I have of the boys on Christmas morning. It is of the boys when they first come into the living room and what Tayson finds under the tree. It then cuts off, but the pictures below show what he got and his excitement.
