Treehouse Museum

Sorry I am posting so much, but our computer does not allow me to upload pictures for some reason so I had to wait until the end of the week to do it at my parents house.

On Friday, thanks to a great recommendation from our friends Lexie and Brian, the kids and I decided to go visit the Treehouse Museum in Ogden (childrens museum). We spent six and a half hours there playing with everything in sight. The kids got to skip naptime and had a blast. Even after all that time, they hadn't played with everything there. They did play at a couple of exhibits twice though. I still had to drag them away when it was time to go. Tayson wanted to stay there forever until I explained that meant he would have to sleep there (he said he wanted to go home and sleep in his own bed, but he wanted to stay there until bedtime.) We would recommend this place to everyone. It isn't very crowded and there is SOOOO much to do.

To understand this picture, you have to know the story from earlier that morning. Mom broke the kitchen faucet the day before and our maintenance guy came that morning to replace the faucet and had to spend a lot of time under the sink. Tayson wanted to sit upstairs and just watch Bart fix the sink because he thought it was so cool. So of course the sink at the play kitchen was broken and had to be fixed by Tayson with spatulas (there were no tools, so he improvised).

He also made sure he said "Have a great day". He was especially excited when right before we left, a little girl came over and purchased something from him, instead of mom or Camden being the only shoppers. He was all smiles.

Camden feeding the baby, he then took good care of her. The next day he found a baby in our house and carried it around for quite sometime and required that he bring it with him to Auntie Jana and Uncle BJ's house that evening. He loves babies now.

More Treehouse Museum

Camden had to wear a builder hat while building with the blocks. He has become quite attached to hats lately. He gets mad if you take them off of him. He had a navy blue baseball hat on all day this day, as you will see in other pictures and when I went to get his pajamas on later that night and took off his ball cap, he got mad and started crying, so I had to find a beenie hat for him to wear to bed, because he couldn't sleep with the ball cap on. He was happy as could be as soon as I found a fleece at for him to wear to bed.

Making Sugar Cookies!

Auntie Erin came up on Thursday with Baby Peyton to make "Halloween/everything else" sugar cookies (we purposely scheduled it far enough in advance of Halloween so that we could use any and all cookie cutters we had, not just Halloween ones). Tayson loved decorating the cookies with frosting and sprinkles, some of which ended up having small mountains of sprinkles in the center of them by the time he was done. Camden enjoyed frosting the cookies, but he decided he needed to eat them immediately, instead of saving them for someone else.

Riding Bike

Tayson is always asking to take his bike outside and ride on the side of our apartment. Last week the weather was beautiful so we took advantage of it. Camden loves running along side Tayson, gathering rocks and playing in the dirt. Obviously Tayson will ride his bike anywhere however, so if he isn't riding it outside, he is usually riding it inside around the kitchen. The smiles show he loves his bike no matter where he is.

HOORAY!!!

Brady has officially survived his Doctoral project presentation as of 2:00 p.m. today! We are all very excited! A huge stress relief for him, and the kids and I are sure excited to have him back home again as a Dad and Husband. Unfortunately he's still got a few tests for his classes the next few weeks, but hopefully they won't be nearly as stressful as the past few weeks. Brady did an incredible job defending his project and answering all the questions from his committee. There were moments that I wanted to cry for him because it seemed way to stressful to me, and the committee grilled him like crazy. He handled it very professionally, (that's why he's the one going to PT school!). I'm very impressed with his hard work, and also very grateful to my friend Katie for watching the boys so I could be there at the presentation. Just thought I would share the exciting news! Brady is SUPERMAN!!

Our Family

Brady is in his 3rd year of PT school at the UofU (though he will always remain true blue through and through (BYU)). Brady finishes up his last semester of classes in December, after which he must complete two full-time internships next semester before graduating in April of 2008. We are heading to Hawaii in December for the first of the final two internships, and then to Pheonix, AZ for the second one. We are still helping manage a storage facility in SLC at this time. We've been here about 15 months so far and love it, however I am definitely looking forward to just being a mom come December. The experiences we've had here will stay with us always, as well as the wonderful friendships we've made here.

Tayson will be turning 4 near the end of December. He loves to talk, as well as play with his trucks, paint, and ride his bike around the apartment. Camden is 18 months now and is just starting to increase his vocabulary and talk. He has been so quiet up until this point, but since we went camping in Yellowstone mid-Aug, he has begun talking a whole lot more. It is fun, but also frustrating when we know what he wants because he tells us, but then we won't give it to him and he throws a fit. He is a stubborn little kid and wants his way and he'll let you know it! He's got quite the high-pitched scream going on right now too. AHHHH! I'm really trying to find some patience left somewhere. Both boys keep us busy, but are so much fun. We went to the state fair tonight and Tayson said as we were getting ready to leave "I want to stay here all along Mom" meaning he wanted to stay at the fair forever. He had so much fun, even though he was only allowed to ride one ride as well as go down the Giant Yellow Slide (a tradition). He loved just walking around and looking at the rides, lights and animals. He takes after his mom when it comes to enjoying fairs, carnivals, etc, definitely doesn't take after his dad in this aspect. :) Though Camden is stubborn, he sure knows how to win your heart with his smiles and hugs which melts away all frustration from dealing with his stubborness. Tayson sure loves to help his little bro, especially when Camden doesn't want him to. We're working on it. Hope everyone else is doing well.
