Healthy Boys

We are happy to report we have healthy guys thus far. Both Tayson and Camden had long awaited doctors checkups yesterday. I prepared them both by letting them know ahead of time that they would likely be getting shots in preparation for kindergarten and preschool in the fall. They weren't thrilled by any means, but didn't throw fits or anything prior to going. When Camden got up on the table, the doctor started looking through his chart and reported that he was all caught up for preschool and didn't need any shots. That kid grinned so big when he heard that and started to climb back down thinking he was done. I had to tell him he still had to have a checkup first before getting down. Both boys did AWESOME! Did exactly what the doctor and nurses asked and were happy the whole time. Tayson was brave as could be for all three of his kindergarten shots. He didn't cry at all, though when we got home he reported to daddy honestly, saying he started to cry, but stopped. Very honest, since I didn't see him start to cry at all, but I guess inside he was about to he said. He is thrilled to know he doesn't need any more shots before school starts. He is sure looking forward to kindergarten starting this Fall too. As for stats, here they are:

Tayson: 49lbs, 44 1/2 in. (90th percentile for weight, 75th for height) - He really is just a SOLID kid, anyone who has tried to pick him up, even as an infant, can confirm it. He doesn't really look big, but he is made of lead I think.

Camden: 40 in. (90th for height) - takes after his Grandpa and Daddy
37 lb (80th for weight) - a bit of a shock to us, as he is our skinny kid, (with no bum as brady would say), but apparently he's also made of a little lead inside.

I'm truly grateful today for two boys who are so cooperative for dentists and doctors. They do just what they are told, with a smile nonetheless. To not have to chase them around or hold them down screaming, is a huge blessing.

Need your opinion

I really would like to get a breadmaker, and there are a lot of them on craigslist. Usually people have them but have rarely, or never used them, so now they want to sell them. I am just wondering if any of you have/use one and like it and what brand it is. I know nothing about what brand is good, etc. So if anyone has any opinions, please share them, then it will give me a good idea of a brand or two I can keep my eyes out for. Thanks. I am also trying to learn to make bread by hand too, it would just be fun to have a breadmaker as well to make some quickly at times, and start to use our wheat.

This should be Fun!

Well, one day a few weeks ago a package showed up on our front steps. When I opened it, I found this. It's from Brady's grandmother. She had told me that since I wasn't finding out the gender, I would have to be happy with a white blanket. I told her that was perfectly fine. I just LOVE having a blanket for each one of our kids from her that she has handmade. Well, when I opened the package, I was surprised to find three small hats along with the blanket, a white one, pink one and blue one. It gave me an instant idea. So I told Brady my idea when he got home from work and he just laughed. Here is my plan: I told Brady when the baby arrives, he needs to put the white hat on the baby and take a picture and text it to our family and those friends that want, and let you all wonder, guess, whatever for a little while. he he. Then after an hour or so, (it'll probably be a little earlier, as I know we have family that are ANXIOUSLY awaiting to find out and might not be able to handle waiting too long), he will take a pic with either the pink or blue hat on depending on the gender, and send it out. I figure, why not have some fun with this. So anyways, just thought I would let everyone know, in case you are interested in being a part of it. We do have a laptop now so will be able to post pics to the blog sooner than before we return home, but probably not right away. So if you are interested, and you don't think I have your cell #, please email me with it. Email address is: rachwhetten@hotmail.com.
As an update, 3 weeks till the due date, 2 weeks till the likely induction. CRAZY! We are getting excited, especially the boys. It'll be fun to have a little baby around again. Its been a little while. We are excited and still planning for a boy, but of course a girl would be a fun surprise too. Either way we will be thrilled! Right now we are all just trying to get over the colds we just recently got (haven't been sick in over 4 months or more, and now suddenly we all get to be sick). I guess I should count our blessings that we can be sick now and hopefully get over it before the baby arrives, rather than getting sick once he/she arrives. Take care for now.

Dirt and Cake

My three boys and their shovels. We've been working more in the yard. Got the planter boxes all built, one planted (waiting on the other two for a few weeks), and now we are on to digging and tilling to prepare for the grass seed. I had to snap a few pictures of all three of my boys with their shovels. They each have their own shovel, appropriate in size, and love to dig in the yard. I can't help but think, if we are blessed with a third boy, it'll just add to the fun of digging and getting dirty. :)

This was Brady's birthday cake. Go Cougars, I was even able to color the helmets to match the team a little. It was fun.

Finally pictures!

Our house (sort of a side view (didn't want the house # or our license plate # in the pic, sorry).

These two pics are of the guest room. No furniture has been moved in yet, but at least we got it painted. (it is a lighter blue than the boys room).

The Baby's room (we've since reorganized it a little and got a really cute glider/ottoman to put in it), but you get the idea. (we are slowly getting ready for this little one to join our family in about 6 weeks).

Our house is located down this private lane.........

Which makes it absolutely perfect for this....

This...

and this. Which Mom loves, as well as the boys. So much bike riding room!

Our back patio is perfect for this...
With all of this space still leftover (it is a massive patio to say the least, but we are growing to like it more and more and more, especially when it rains so much (this dries quite quickly, allowing a place outside to play when the ground is wet).

The boys made peach/blackberry cobbler the other day to satisfy one of mom's cravings. I have the most wonderful husband! It was Delicious, and worth the heartburn that followed.

The boys had a chance to test out the new pool at Daddy's new clinic location. As well as test out the jets that propelled them from one end of the pull to the other. They loved it. It is an amazing pool, with a treadmill built into it. It will serve a lot of people in the coming years.

Tayson took this pic this morning. Not the best but gives you an idea of how things are going on the baby side of our lives.
And the boys' latest project with daddy....
Our garden! We are SOOOO EXCITED to finally have space to plant our own garden. Unfortunately the rain hasn't been too cooperative of course, but soon enough we should have it planted.
Pics of our side yard/garden. We are putting in three boxes, and then will put grass in for the rest of the side yard and back yard. We are very excited to say the least.
That's all for now.
