Moving day for Charli

Our friends Nic and Brittani moved last week. Tayson and Charli got in on the action of loading things into the truck. Talk about big helpers, they thought the were SO cool. Tayson misses Charli, but it adjusting much better than I thought he would so I am very grateful. Fortunately, a little boy name Jack who is a little younger than Tayson has moved in, so he does have a friend afterall. Tayson was excited when I told him that Charli didn't move too far away though so we can still see her sometimes.

A Day on the Farm

After Kangaroo Zoo, we spent the rest of the day on the farm with Papa. The boys got their first experience learning to pick raspberries with Papa. They loved it, though Camden ate everyone he picked. After a while he just started grabbing from mommy and Tayson's buckets because he couldn't pick them fast enough. We also got to spend time helping Papa sort apples. Tayson thought it was so cool watching papa load the apples into the cooler. The boys had a lot of fun and needless to say, they were quite dirty at the end of the day. Nothing like a day on the farm.

"Camera, picture", you say it and he's ready

Camden is far from camera shy. If he sees a camera, or hears the word "camera" or "picture" or anything along those lines, he says "Cheese". Unfortunately we don't get many kandid smiles from him anymore because he is saying "cheese" everytime and giving a fake smile. We'll take what we can get. There have been a couple of times that someone is talking about a picture or camera, even when one is not present, and Camden pauses whatever he is doing and turns around and says "cheese" looking for the camera. He's got a lot of great expressions lately that I hope to somehow catch on camera, but I'll haven't figured out yet how to

sneak up and take the picture before he sees the camera and says cheese.

Kangaroo Zoo

On my third day of vacation from work, Brady had to get back to work at the UofU, so the kids and I went down to Kangaroo Zoo with my sister and her daughter, Peyton. The boys had a blast jumping and sliding on the toys. Camden was very much against the idea of climbing up and sliding down the slides at first. He didn't want anything to do with the blow up playsets. He cried everytime we went anywhere near any of them. He wanted to just sit on a chair, but he didn't want mommy to go down the slides either. He thought mom was pretty mean because I made him go down the slides with me even when he was crying in order to get him adjusted and show him that it was fun. He finally adjusted to the place after at least an hour of crying and had a lot of fun.

Fall Break

Brady got a full week off of school this Fall for fall break. We decided to take advantage of the time and so I used three vacation days for work and we headed up to my parent's condo at Zermatt in Midway, UT. Our friends Jon and Katie came along with us along with their two little girls (Maile and Kaila). The kids had a blast swimming and riding the Carousel at the resort. The kids loved the Carousel (just look at Camden's expression in the picture of him, Tayson and Daddy). It was fun to get away and spend time with friends. Brady's brother and sister came up with their families the 2nd day and the guys went golfing while the girls hung out at the park and the condo visiting while the kids played. Tayson wanted to make a BIG pile of leaves at the park to jump in. We worked hard, and he was excited when he got the pile as BIG as it was in the picture above. He ran and jumped in. He loved it though the landing wasn't all that soft. He didn't mind.

Grandma Clark and Grandpa Judd came to visit!

Over Conference weekend we were lucky to have Grandma Clark (Brady's grandmother)come to visit all of her family in Utah. Brady's dad was able to come out from Hawaii as well at that time. The boys were so excited to see Grandma. They LOVE Grandma Clark. They LOVE Grandpa Judd (Brady's Dad) too, but we forgot to take some pictures with him. Camden was a little afraid of Grandpa Judd in the beginning, maybe because he is so big (6'7"). It took a couple of visits to warm up, but by the end of the second day that we saw him, he was Grandpa's buddy. They are sure getting excited about going to Hawaii to live with Grandpa Judd and Grandma Suzie.

One sad little boy

Yesterday was a rather emotional day for Tayson. He was asking why we had to hurry somewhere after his nap and I explained that we had to be back quickly because someone was coming to see Charli's apartment because they might move there when Charli leaves. He got all teary eyed and emotional and said "I don't want Charli to move mom, because then I won't have anymore friends". I felt so bad for him. He came over by me while I was on the computer looking at Lexie's blog (a friend and previous manager at the storage facility) and he saw a picture of her little girl looking sad and asked why Nora was sad and I explained that she was sad because they had to move so far away (Michigan) and he got all emotional and teary eyed again and said he that he wants Sophie (Nora's sister and his other best friend) to come back because he misses her. He brought me to tears with the look on his face, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to take a picture. What a sad kid. Everytime I look at the picture I want to cry.
Reality that his friends are moving away is starting to hit this little boy. This morning he ran to the window to see if Charli was still here (if their car was here) because he thought maybe she moved last night when he went to bed. He doesn't realize which day she is moving, so each day I think he will be checking to make sure she hasn't left yet. Fortunately a young couple came to look at the apartment yesterday that have a 3-yr-old boy (a little younger than Tayson) that may get the job here, so Tayson may still have someone to play with the rest of the time we are here. If not, he and Camden will be the oldest kids here. As our friends have and are moving away, it is really starting to sink in just how little time we have left here. We have less than two months before we leave this apartment, and just about two months before we leave Utah. The kids don't really understand that we are moving too. Tayson tells people he is moving to Hawaii, but he has known this for almost 6 months and I think he is confused as to when it is really going to happen. We are sad to be leaving our family and friends here in Utah, but at the same time are looking forward to the adventures that lie ahead (not to mention warm weather!, especially after the snow that is headed this way this weekend).
